Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe
Snickerdoodles are delicious cookies and they are so easy to make, if you use my recipe!
This recipe was passed down to me by my mother-in-law. It is so easy and everyone in the family just loves them. They’re great while they’re still warm just out of the oven or later when they’re cooled and crispy.
I love to make them around the holidays for guests to enjoy or give as a gift when visiting someone else’s home. They also make a nice treat to bring to the office or as a dessert for a potluck.
Here’s what you’ll need (ingredients):
– 1/2 cup butter or margarine
– 1/2 cup Crisco shortening
– 1 1/2 cup sugar
– 2 eggs
– 2 3/4 cup flour
– 2 tsp. cream of tartar
– 1 tsp. baking soda
– 1/4 tsp. salt
– 2 Tbsp. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon
Here’s what you need to do (instructions):
Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Add eggs and stir well. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter/shortening/sugar mixture. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
Round the mixture into balls and roll in the sugar/cinnamon mixture to coat. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
Enjoy! But, be prepared to make more soon because they are so good they don’t last!
